Who We’re Looking For
We’re not looking to recruit as many instructors as possible. We’re looking for the right ones.
You must hold a current green ADI badge. We don’t take on PDIs or trainees — our pupils expect fully qualified instructors and that’s what we deliver.
You need to know your area properly — the roads, the roundabouts, the test routes, and the tricky spots. Our USP is local expertise, so we need instructors who live and breathe their patch.
This isn’t just a box to tick. We want instructors who are patient, who take time to explain things properly, and who get genuine satisfaction from helping people pass. If you’re just filling time slots, we’re not the right fit.
You’ll need your own suitable tuition vehicle with dual controls, fully insured for driving instruction. This is your business — you bring the car, we bring the pupils and the brand.
We require all TDA instructors to hold and maintain a grade A or B on their DVSA Standards Check. This isn’t just a formality — it’s how we protect the quality of the brand and the experience every pupil receives.

You set your own hours, your own days, and your own schedule. Want to work school hours only? Fine. Want to do six-day weeks? That’s up to you. There are no minimum hours, no forced bookings, and no one telling you when to work.

Every TDA franchisee gets 4 weeks per calendar year where no franchise fee is payable. Take your time off without the weekly fee ticking over. Just give us 7 days’ notice and the week is yours, fee-free.
You’re not franchise number 847 in a national chain. TDA is deliberately small-scale, which means you have direct access to the founder, Darren, for support, advice, and collaboration. Decisions are made quickly and your input actually matters.
Because we’re selective about who joins, you’re not dragged down by poor instructors elsewhere in the network. Every TDA instructor meets the same standard. When a pupil sees the TDA brand, they know they’re getting quality.
