Weekly Driving Lessons

Learn at your own pace with regular weekly lessons. Pay as you go, no contracts, no commitments. Just structured, professional driving instruction from your local DVSA-approved instructor.

Why Choose Weekly Lessons?

Not everyone can take a week off to do an intensive course — and not everyone wants to. Weekly lessons let you learn to drive around your existing schedule, whether that’s work, college, school, or family. You book one or two lessons per week at a time that suits you, pay as you go, and build your skills gradually with the same dedicated instructor every session.

The advantage of weekly lessons is that you have time to absorb and process what you’ve learned between sessions. Many learners find that skills click into place after a few days of reflection, and that the next lesson feels easier because of it. There’s no rush, no pressure, and no rigid schedule — just steady, structured progress toward your test.

How Weekly Lessons Work

1

Book Your First Lesson

Fill in the form below or give us a call. We’ll match you with your local instructor and arrange a day and time that works for you. Your first lesson can usually be arranged within a few days.

2

Assessment & Lesson Plan

Your instructor picks you up from home and assesses your starting level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or picking up where you left off, they’ll build a personalised lesson plan covering exactly what you need to get test-ready.

3

Learn & Progress

Each lesson picks up where the last one ended. Your instructor tracks your progress, introduces new skills when you’re ready, and ensures every hour is productive. You’ll gradually build from basics to full independent driving and test-standard manoeuvres.

4

Test Preparation

Once you’re approaching test standard, your lessons shift to focus on your local test routes, mock tests under exam conditions, and polishing any remaining weak areas. Your instructor will let you know when you’re ready — they won’t rush you, and they won’t hold you back.

5

Pass Your Test

Your instructor takes you to the test centre, gives you a warm-up drive, and you sit your test in the car you’ve been learning in. No surprises — just a calm, prepared test day.

Weekly vs Intensive

Both options lead to the same result — a full driving licence. The difference is pace, scheduling, and how you prefer to learn.

Weekly Lessons Intensive Course
Pace 1–2 lessons per week 3–4 hours per day
Timeline to test 3–6 months typical 1–3 weeks typical
Payment Pay as you go Upfront or deposit + balance
Flexibility Change days/times freely Fixed block of dates
Best for Busy schedules, steady learners Quick licence, time off available
Skill retention Time to absorb between lessons Less forgetting between sessions

Weekly Lessons FAQ

Our standard lesson is one full hour of driving — not the 50-minute “hour” some schools offer. We also offer 2-hour lessons at £78 if you prefer longer sessions, which many pupils find especially useful in the later stages of learning when you want to practise full test-length drives.
The DVSA estimates an average of 45 hours of professional tuition combined with 22 hours of private practice. In reality, it varies enormously from person to person. Some pupils are test-ready in 20–25 lessons, others need 50+. Your instructor will give you an honest assessment early on and keep you updated on your progress throughout.
We ask for 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged at the full lesson rate, as your instructor will have reserved that time for you and turned away other bookings. We understand that emergencies happen, and we’ll always be reasonable.
Absolutely. Many pupils start with weekly lessons and then switch to a short intensive block in the final weeks before their test. This is a great way to combine steady learning with a focused push at the end. Your instructor can help you plan the right approach.
Yes, always. Consistency is one of our core principles. You’ll be matched with a dedicated local instructor who will be with you from your first lesson through to your test day. They’ll know exactly where you are in your learning, what you’re struggling with, and what you need to focus on next.
Yes, you must hold a valid provisional driving licence before your first lesson. You can apply for one online through GOV.UK — it costs £34 and usually arrives within a couple of weeks. If you haven’t got one yet, apply now and book your first lesson for after it arrives.
Payment is made directly to your instructor at the start of each lesson. Cash and bank transfer are accepted. If you choose the 10-lesson block discount, the full £395 is paid upfront by bank transfer before your first lesson of that block.
